On the surface of the moon, a retro-futuristic modernist city is sprawling, extending out in long corridors from the huge hexagonal tower. The few brave people are starting to explore their new environment.

life on mars

Created for New South Wales regional gallery Casula Powerhouse's Giant Leap show, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of man landing on the moon. This piece was exhibited alongside seven other Gorst space-themed collages, and was selected by Art Guide Australia as one of the Top 5 Exhibitions to see in the nation. Modernist architecture of Oscar Neimeyer is mixed with iconic images of Uluru and the telecommunications tower in Canberra, to resonate with Australian viewers, on this Mars-like environment.
